Today is Heritage Day in South Africa
So we have a day off and lots of sunshine, its said to be a National Braai day, that is a barbacue to some.

Click on the images to enlarge them.
Sailing around Hout Bay is a real pleasure when we have nice weather.

Looking back at Hout Bay and from Chapmans Bay.

Druma our dog was a fine sailor also.

This is the very nice view from the deck of the Hout Bay Yacht Club, Castle Beers are being discounted while the RWC is on!

Something from Twitter today
So I got this from Twitter and this is a great example that if these young men would have had a PLB such as the small, light weight, inexpensive Fastfind 210 ….the Coast Guard could be going to get them instead of searching.
uscgd13#CoastGuard #searching for Jonathon Shager, 22 & Cody Kidd, 23 who are overdue from a canoe trip in Puget Sound.

South Africa Hout Bay Yacht Club marina today
For the start of winter we had a decent day, colder than a month back but no rain today.

Picture was taken with a Sony Cybershot digital camera.
The boat on the right is a Dix 43 in wood/epoxy build, the boat is loaded for cruising, contact me for the details.

Hout Bay today lifes a beach
It is on a day like today when the SE gales have backed off.

I took the 1967 Hiillman Californian out for its first drive in many months, things are working well and I was pleased to top the petrol tank up today.

With some petrol still in the tank, the R150 extra that went into it took the fuel gauge up to 3/4 full !
