Mitch Gibbons Neff on Circe Design 852
This is a nice image of Mitch Gibbons-Neff aboard Circe. For anyone who knew Mitch I can just imagine what he's saying: "Guys, we're going to go sailing now. The most important thing is that nobody gets hurt".
Circe is a beautiful boat, fully restored. Our suspicion is this image was taken on her shake down cruise right after her restoration.
She was built by the A/B Neglinge-Varvet shipyard of Saltsjobaden, Sweden and launched in 1950. Her racing career is commendable: 2nd in 1951 Fastnet Race, Winner Class B in the 1954 Bermuda Race, 2nd in Trans-Atlantic race of 1955 among others.
Here are the plans.
